After a haphazard career working and travelling around the world, Jessica Hart stumbled into writing as a way to finance a PhD in history but soon developed a love of romance as a genre in its own right. Dividing her time between romance and research, Jessica wrote 60 books for Harlequin Mills & Boon which have been translated into 25 languages and won a number of awards, including a RITA, along the way. Since finally completing that PhD, she now also writes historical novels set in Tudor England under her real name, Pamela Hartshorne.
Jessica lives in York, England, where she continues to research the disposal of rubbish in pre-modern cities (honestly more interesting than it sounds!) She writes non-fiction as well as fiction, and is also an editor of illustrated books and occasional tutor and mentor. Although based in a historic city, Jessica still loves to travel when she can, preferably to places with big skies and open horizons.
