Where did you get the inspiration for Pumpkin Patch Sweethearts?

I had a vision of these two sisters that was so real-just the two of them in an art studio. Not just sisters but friends. And, from there, Dog Park Sweethearts and Pumpkin Patch Sweethearts took shape. While I was writing it, I felt like I was visiting friends of the family.

What would be your favorite activity on the countdown list to the Great Pumpkin Patch? Why?

Honestly, I’d have fun doing any of the things on their countdown list. BUT making clove apples holds a special place in my heart! I made some when I was in girl scouts growing up and it was so much fun. To this day, I love the smell of cinnamon and apples-it’s my go-to candle scent.

Tell us about the adorable dog on the cover!

This is Chewie, the dog that joins the family in this book. He is a precious rescue pup—that favors a Border Collie. They are super smart and energetic dogs and I figured he’d fit right in with Josh and the kids.

What was your favorite scene to write and why?

I loved this scene. I think it’s one of those lightning rod moments that makes the hero and heroine face the fact that they’re more than just friends.

“I’ll be right there.” Josh grinned, pausing long enough to tug his pie-covered t-shirt up and over his head. He used the back to finish mopping the residual stickiness clinging to his chin. “Did I get it?” he asked.

Harley and Autumn turned at the same time.

Autumn blinked, glanced at her sister, mumbled something and followed Noah and the kids.

Harley, on the other hand, didn’t move. He’d never seen that expression before—he didn’t know what to make of it, but it didn’t look good.

“Bad?” he asked, wiping his face again. “Do you mind?” He held the shirt out.

Harley took the shirt but didn’t move. She was staring at his chest. Staring at him.

“Harley?” He frowned, finding no sign of pie anywhere he could see.

“Fine,” she whispered. “Put a shirt on.” But she kept staring. “Here.” She pressed his pie-covered shirt back into his hands and drew in a raspy, wavering breath. She made an odd sound, so soft he had to lean forward to hear it.

“What?” he asked, stepping forward. Once she finally looked up at him, he regretted it. Not that he didn’t like what he saw—but that there was no way he could do anything about it. This time, there was no denying they both felt the current pulling them together—no fighting it. He didn’t want to. He wanted to give in to the ache she stirred, the yearning to hold her close. How was he supposed to walk away from her now? Now, when there was absolutely no doubt that Harley Welsh might just want him to kiss her, too. “Harley.” Her name was broken and gruff. “We need to talk.”

What are you currently reading?

I just finished Mexican Gothic. I love reading all over and this one grabbed my eye – the cover is amazing and I love all things gothic. It was a very visual book and not for the squeamish-lol. But I enjoyed it. I think I’ll be reading something a little lighter next.
