I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve become a grandmother for the first time!! My sweet granddaughter, Nelly Tate Sands was born March 6th and we’re all completely in love! She’s so fresh and smells so sweet. My son and daughter-in-law have spent nine months eagerly awaiting her arrival, planning, dreaming of her. They’ve ordered furniture, painted and decorated her room, bought diapers, clothes, and attended new parent classes. Now she’s finally here, and they’re wonderful new parents.
I’ve been watching all of this and remembering when my husband and I became parents for the very first time. We were so incredibly unprepared in comparison. We called our firstborn our “test pancake.”
I felt similarly when my first book came out ten years ago. It was my “test pancake”. I did everything wrong, I’m sure. But it was my first book baby and I loved it so very much. I still love my new releases after over a dozen books, but I’m a little bit more experienced now
and hopefully do a better job preparing for new releases.
My latest novel, WHAT THEY DON’T KNOW is the third book in my Georgia series set in fictional Moonshine, Georgia. It’s a murder mystery romance involving socially awkward Georgia Bureau of Investigations agent, Mitch Calloway, and the town therapist, Bree Hawthorne. Remains of a woman are found in a gravel pit, and Bree aids law enforcement in helping them find the killer. Bree and Mitch go undercover inside a cult as a married couple to uncover deadly secrets and something far too personal to Bree. Mitch and Bree must fight their overwhelming attraction to each as they navigate a dangerous operation.
I hope you will give my new book baby a read—and I hope you love it as much as I do!!
All the best!
Susan
