RELEASE DAY! An Exclusive Sneak Peek of Blood Freed with Traci Douglass!

1. Can you tell us a bit about the world building behind the Blood Ravagers series? What was your process like?

I knew I wanted my stories to center around a fictional town, that way I would have more freedom to set things up the way I wanted. I still wanted it to have a basis in reality though, sort of a parallel universe where all these mystical creatures we read about in books and see on TV and in movies actually exist alongside humans.

2. What can we expect from the hero, Dex?

Ah, Dex. He goes on quite a personal journey in this story. His is a classic hero’s journey. He starts out the book very isolated and alone because of things that have taken place in his past that were beyond his control, but for which he carries the burden anyway. The story of him going on this mission with Liz is the story of him learning the truth about himself and his past and stepping up to fulfill his true destiny.

3. What’s your favorite part about writing paranormal romance?

The freedom, to explore charged topics without fear. When you make up whole worlds and species, it’s much easier to talk about difficult topics without offending anyone. It’s also so much fun to discover all these new things.

4. What was your biggest inspiration for Blood Freed?

Great question. I don’t know that I had any one single inspiration. It’s rather a hodge-podge of things. What was happening in the news at the time I was writing it. What movies I was watching and books I was reading. Inspiration is everywhere.

5. In 3 words, tease your favorite scene in Blood Freed.

Chicago. Crossbones. Syn.
