Release Day Post! Visit with “Loving Kate” author Lara Van Hulzen!

I’m honored to be on the Tule blog today talking about Loving Kate, the
second book in my Silver Bay series that releases today! The writing life is one I wouldn’t trade for anything and every book release day is a celebration. It truly never gets old.

Jack and Kate from Loving Kate are unlike any characters I’ve written before and I had so much fun with them. Kate plays a fairly big role in the first book of the series, Return To Silver Bay. Jack only shows up briefly in the end, but once I wrote a scene with him, I knew he had to be a hero in a future book. I fell in love with him instantly.

Kate is control personified, always put together and works hard as an interior designer and shop owner. Jack is a motorcycle riding, fly by the seat of his pants kind of guy who gets Kate to let go and live a little. But not before breaking through the walls she’s built around her heart from a painful past.

Silver Bay is a fictional town in Northern California that I based off of various places along the coast. I love to read books set in small towns and writing this series has been a joy. I get to visit beautiful places and call it research! I also enjoy writing secondary characters that help round out the story.
