My name is Lara Van Hulzen and I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was a little girl, writing has been my way of processing the world around me. I think in pictures. It’s fun to be able to put those on paper. Create stories. Write novels.
I’ve been married to my college sweetheart for 22 years and we have an 18 year-old daughter and 15 year-old twin boys. My life is never boring and does not lack humor.
I’m excited about my Silver Bay Series with Tule Publishing. The first book, Return To Silver Bay, is about Maggie and Josh, high school sweethearts brought back together when Maggie returns home to finalize things after her father’s death. Unlike my first series, the town of Silver Bay is what connects the characters. The second book, Loving Kate, is about Josh’s brother, Jack, and Kate, a feisty interior designer who has sworn off men, only Jack walks into her life and throws that plan out the window. The third book, Saving Drew, is the story of Drew and Baylee. Baylee is a single mom starting a new life in Silver Bay after her divorce. She owns the local bakery. Drew is a Major League Baseball player with an injury that could kill his career. In town for his sister Kate’s wedding, the bakery owner catches his eye and teaches him there’s more to life than how fast he can throw a baseball.
I love to write stories women can curl up with by the fire or read at the beach while sinking toes in the sand. My desire is for women to be encouraged in relationships, in life, and when they’re finished reading, walk away with a sense of hope.
Writing stories since she was a young girl, Lara’s dream of being a novelist became a reality with her Men of Honor Series.
An avid reader, she worked as a book reviewer for 18 years with various organizations such as Crossings Doubleday, YouthWorker Journal, and www.radiantlit.com.
Lover of movies, music, art, travel, baseball, CrossFit and her dog, Lara lives in California with her husband, teenage daughter, and teenage twin boys.
