Visit with “Every Breath You Take” Author Christina Phillips!

I’ve been on a bit of a bad boy kick lately, and Every Breath You Take is no exception. Mason Hunter is the rebel biker good girl Piper secretly fell for five years ago, and when they meet again the sizzling attraction between them is as hot as ever. But after setting several books in the US, this time I went back to my roots and set the book in London.

It’s funny, I haven’t been back to England in about twelve years but I only have to close my eyes and it’s like I’ve never left. I had great fun coming up with a name for the seventeenth century pub Mason and Piper visit – The Slug and Lettuce. Now, while this is a perfectly gorgeous eccentric name for a British pub, as with many things in England it’s not quite as it seems.

It actually has nothing to do with a slimy bug munching on your salad. Slug is an old word for strong drink and lettuce is derived from the word lattice, and in the 16th and 17th centuries red lattice on a sign indicated an alehouse.

Not that either Mason or Piper were the least bit interested in that delicious piece of history, since they were both battling with guilt from the past and trying not to fall in love in the present :)
